Morocco is a country where you can experience a taste for the exotic within a short flight from the UK. It is a country of stunning beauty, variety, rich colour and vibrancy. This exhibition brings together some of Gordon’s most recent paintings on aluminium inspired by his journeys throughout Morocco, where the light at certain times of the day quite literally makes the topography ‘glow’ with colour.
From the north in and around the Rif mountains, the lush Ourika Valley, the fertile plains around Volubilis, across the High-Atlas mountains to the stunning Kasbah and surrounding topography at Ait-Benhaddou, further south to the desert regions around Merzouga and the Anti-Atlas around Tafraoute.
Local design, the explosion of colour in and around the Marrakech medina also provides a rich source for new and exciting images.
